Friends, there is a very serious issue that I feel compelled to discuss with you. Over the weekend, I had extensive conversations with three experts from different fields, and I discovered that they were all concerned about a question that many young people have not yet paid attention to:
Will AI eventually replace us?
This is not meant to scare you, but if you haven't realized the gravity of this issue, it's crucial to awaken to it.
The individuals I spoke with include a consulting expert serving many major brands, a seasoned owner of a film and television company, and a development engineer who lectures at prominent companies. Despite their years of outstanding professional experience, they are all contemplating the possibility of being replaced by AI.
This contrasts with my previous assumption that only young people were concerned about this issue. Surprisingly, they share a similar observation that many young individuals around them have not yet realized the need to compete with AI. Some believe that the learning curve for AI tools is too high, leading them to hesitate or step back.
Here's a real story: after experimenting with AI tools for a few days, a business owner reduced their team from seven to just one person. AI can now generate code and articles, perform quick translations, and even respond to phone calls with a level of sophistication that is becoming indistinguishable.
Particularly with the rapid pace of AI evolution, as even Tencent's founder, Pony Ma, acknowledged, viewing AI as an opportunity comparable to the industrial revolution that occurs once in centuries.
After discussing this with the three mentioned friends, we distilled three essential points.
First, cultivating a fundamental drive for learning and the ability to learn is crucial. You should reflect on your learning process, recognize the need to learn when faced with AI, and actively overcome learning challenges. This involves not just acquiring knowledge but also evaluating its effectiveness and applying it to work and life.
Second, the ability to find connections and truly integrate information is vital. In an era where information is abundant, the ability to discern and connect diverse information resources is crucial, testing both intelligence and emotional intelligence. While AI excels in language understanding, humans possess the ability to quickly understand various perspectives, empathize, and grasp the focal points of discussions.
Third, fostering the skill of proposing new ideas and creating novel things is imperative. Human creativity, stemming from profound thinking, emotional experiences, and the flow of consciousness, is distinct from AI's ability to compile and vary data. Instead of competing with AI in terms of efficiency and quantity, humans should leverage AI as an assistant in areas such as content creation, advertising, and marketing.
In conclusion, the key is to learn how to correctly utilize AI tools, making them complementary rather than competitive. AI can assist in organizing frameworks, crafting compelling slogans, and even generating initial visual elements, offering inspiration.
As real individuals, we must engage in genuine experiences, engage in deep thinking, and integrate our values, emotions, ideals, and work to become irreplaceable entities with depth and substance.
